We supply the hardwood

Choose your species and finish with us in the shop, in your own light. We source it and bring it to your door.

Acclimation & installation

We let the wood settle to your home, then install it the right way for your subfloor — nail, staple or glue-down.

STEP 05

Transitions, trims & baseboards

We finish the edges — doorway transitions, trims and resetting your baseboards — so everything looks built-in.

STEP 06

Cleanup & haul-away

We tear out and cart off your old floor, tidy up behind us and leave you with nothing but a room ready to live in.

Both are genuine hardwood on the surface. The difference is what's underneath — and that decides which rooms each one suits best.

Solid Hardwood

100% wood, top to bottom

Milled from a single piece of solid wood, so it's the real thing all the way through.
Can be sanded and refinished many times — refresh the colour or repair wear for decades.
Best on or above ground level, over a wood subfloor.
The classic choice with the longest usable life when it's looked after.

Engineered Hardwood

Real-wood top, stable core

A genuine hardwood veneer bonded over a cross-layered plywood core.
That core resists expanding and shrinking, so it handles humidity and temperature swings better.
A smart pick for basements and below-grade rooms where solid wood isn't ideal.
Comes in wider planks and installs over more subfloor types.

Each species has its own look and hardness. Come by the shop and see the grain in person — samples always read differently in your own light.

Oak
