Luxury vinyl,
installed to last.

The Rug Shack supplies and professionally installs waterproof luxury vinyl (LVP and LVT) and traditional sheet vinyl across Church Point, Clare and the South Shore. From the first measure to the final trim, one local crew handles the whole job so your new floor goes down flat, tight and built to last.

What it actually is

The look of wood.
The nerves of steel.

Luxury vinyl comes as planks (LVP) that mimic real hardwood and tiles (LVT) that mimic stone or ceramic. A high-resolution printed layer under a clear, tough wear coat means it reads as the real thing underfoot — right down to the texture.

The difference is what it can handle. Luxury vinyl is 100% waterproof all the way through, so a spilled glass, a wet dog or a leaky dishwasher won't warp it. It resists scratches, dents and fading, which is exactly why families with kids and pets keep choosing it.

Want something even more budget-minded for a laundry or utility space? We also fit traditional sheet vinyl — one continuous, seam-free surface that's still easy on the wallet.

What's included

Your vinyl install,
done properly.

Every job is full-service. We supply the floor and handle the whole install from start to finish — here's exactly what that looks like.

STEP 01

Free in-home measure & quote

We come to you, measure the space properly and price it out honestly — no guesswork, no pressure, no surprise add-ons later.

STEP 02

Subfloor prep & leveling

A flat base is everything with vinyl. We prep and level the subfloor so the finished floor sits tight, even and quiet underfoot.

STEP 03

Moisture check

Basements and slabs get a moisture check before anything goes down, so damp coming up from below never becomes your problem.

STEP 04

We supply the vinyl

We help you pick the right wood or stone look and the right wear layer for how the room gets used, then order it all in for you.

STEP 05

Professional install

Click-lock floating or glue-down, laid by hands that do this every week — straight lines, tight seams and a floor that stays put.

STEP 06

Trims, transitions & finishing

Baseboards, thresholds and doorway transitions are fitted and finished so the edges look clean and everything meets neatly.

STEP 07

Cleanup & haul-away

We tidy up after ourselves and take the old flooring with us, so you walk back into a finished room, not a job site.

Every install is backed by our own workmanship guarantee. If something isn't sitting right after we're done, we come back and make it right — that's the deal when you hire a local crew.

Why people love it

Built for real life,
not just the showroom.

100% waterproof

Waterproof top to bottom. Spills, splashes and steam simply wipe up — no warping, no swelling.

Kid- & pet-proof

A tough wear layer shrugs off claws, dropped toys and dragged chairs, so it still looks good years in.

Warm & quiet

Softer and warmer underfoot than tile, with a cushioned feel that keeps rooms quieter as you walk.

Easy & affordable

A quick sweep and a damp mop is all it needs — and it lands at a friendly price per square foot.

Shop it like a pro

How to read
a vinyl floor.

Three things tell you how a vinyl floor will look and last. Here's what to check — and we'll walk you through samples in person.

01 · Wear layer

How tough it is

The clear top coat, measured in mil. Thicker means more scratch and dent resistance — 12 mil suits most homes, 20 mil+ is built for pets and heavy traffic.

02 · Core

Rigid vs. flexible

Rigid-core planks — SPC (stone) and WPC (wood-composite) — are stable and hide small subfloor bumps. Flexible glue-down vinyl is thinner and best over very smooth floors.

03 · Finish

Look & texture

The printed grain plus an embossed texture is what sells the realism. Matte, hand-scraped and wire-brushed finishes feel closest to genuine wood or stone.

Where it shines

Anywhere water
is a worry.

Because it's fully waterproof, luxury vinyl goes exactly where hardwood and laminate can't — the wet, busy, hard-working rooms of the house.

And it's just as at home everywhere else. Run the same floor through your whole main level and you get one clean, continuous look from the kitchen to the living room.

Weighing your options

Not sure vinyl
is the one?

Compare it side by side.

Luxury vinyl wins where water is the deciding factor — it can go in rooms hardwood and laminate simply shouldn't. But each floor has its moment. If you love a natural grain or want the lowest price on a dry main floor, it's worth a look at the alternatives before you decide.
